Privacy Act 2020 Compliance Statement

Infoways Limited collects, uses, stores, and discloses personal information in strict accordance with New Zealand's Privacy Act 2020 and its 13 Information Privacy Principles. We maintain robust governance including purpose limitation, data minimisation, security safeguards, individual rights, and notifiable breach protocols.

​HDCA protects individuals from serious online harm via 10 Communication Principles:

- Threats, harassment, or menacing messages  
- Disclosing private facts without consent
- False allegations causing emotional distress
- Denigrating someone based on race, gender, disability
- Encouraging self-harm or suicide

 

What qualifies as a HDCA event?
-> Social media posts, emails, SMS, WhatsApp, YouTube videos

 

What does not qualify as a HDCA event?
-> Phone calls, postal mail, unrecorded conversations

 

Why we need your details
- Legally required (HDCA s24(3)) to notify content author
- Your consent choice controls if author sees your contact info or not.

Before you submit the details, we must notify the content author/poster within 48 hours with your complaint details. Your privacy choice controls what they see. To help with this desicion, here's a quick example:

 

Sarah reports John's comment on our Infoways blog post where he verbally threatened her. Sarah wants to report this behavior to Infoways.

 

By selecting Yes:

 

John will receive a notification from the Infoways team that states that "Sarah Brown (sarah@email.com, 021-123-4567) reported your comment on 'GRC Best Practices' blog post (URL: infoways.co.nz/blog/grc-tips) breaches HDCA Principle 2 (threatening). Sarah consents to you contacting her."
